It was the hottest talk of the town and perhaps the most famous myth of the decade that the world was gonna end on the 21st December of the year 2012. The myth originates from the fact that according to the ancient Mayan calendar, there are no dates after the 21st of Dec, 2012 giving birth to the notion that perhaps the world will end on this date. This mythical concept was developed into several different elements. There were comics about it, a lot of mentioning on social media networks and the thing that flared it the most was the release of movie 2012 that depicted end of the world in motion picture way.
